Susan Day is an award winning artist whose works have received recognition on the national level from prestigious institutions such as Brown University. Her work encompasses many mediums in both two and three dimensions. Additionally, Ms. Day was the founder of a highly successful and innovative art school that was renowned for encouraging the arts throughout the community.
Susan Day has studied art at prestigious institutions such as Rhode Island school of Design and the University of Massachusetts, where she graduated suma cum laude and received the esteemed Book Award for her work in the fine arts. She holds advanced degrees in 2D / 3D Studio Arts, Sculpture and Art Education.
Susan Day has focused much of her work around the concept of personal and community responsibility. She has contributed much work to altruistic causes such as her hunger project, which consisted of a large series of paintings that toured as a traveling exhibit to raise awareness of world hunger today.
Most recently, Ms. Day has been commissioned to compile a series of paintings, which will compose a visual, painted essay of her home state of Rhode Island. Small Paintings of Little Rhody, is expected to be published during the late summer of 2007 and will encompass approximately 50 works.
